Jade, from Barbados, (Remy-Cointreau community) traveled to Paris for a homestay experience with World is a Village. She was hosted by Penelope. Penelope had already traveled to Barbados for a homestay program. The two new best friends got along so great that they decided to go further in their cultural exchange! Jade visited popular French landmarks and got a taste for the baguettes and the cheese! We had the opportunity to interview Jade while she was visiting Penelope in Paris.

Welcome Penelope and Jade, it is so great to see you guys and have you here for an interview!

Jade: Thank you so much for welcoming us! Penelope and I have had such great trips together it’s nice to see from where the team works! 

Penelope: Yes, thank you so much for welcoming us to your offices!

Connecting before homestay on World is a Village

So first, how did you guys meet!

Jade & Penelope: We met on World is a Village.

Jade arrived in Paris last week, god… we were so excited to see each other again!

Penelope: First I went on a homestay program in Jade’s family.

Jade: And now it’s my turn to be in Paris, hosted by Penelope’s family.

Jade’s homestay experience in Paris

So, Jade, you’ve been in Paris for a few days now, what have you girls been up to?

Penelope: Jade arrived in Paris last week, god… we were so excited to see each other again!

We visited the magnificent Castle of Versailles

Jade: Yes I am so happy to be here and spend time with Penelope! Since I got here what have we been up to ….? A LOT to be fair!

Penelope: You met some of my cousins and some of my friends. We went to a barbecue to my friend’s house with my cousins. We visited the magnificent Castle of Versailles (ED: Versailles is the 2nd most visited place in France).

Jade: And the Champs-Elysées! Did I say it right?

Penelope: Yes! 😁And the Arc de Triomphe also where we took some great pictures!

Wow! You guys have been busy!

It was always my dream to visit Paris, but doing it through a homestay program was the best idea ever! 

Jade: What else did we do…? Oh we went to the Gallery… Gallery Laf… 

Penelope: Galerie Lafayette! 

Jade: Right! And we did some great shopping there!

Penelope: We went to the Louvre

Jade: and the Eiffel Tour! Which was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G

It sounds like a perfect trip! And it’s not done yet!!

Jade: Yes… I don’t want it to end!

Jade: It was always my dream to visit Paris, but doing it through a homestay program was the best idea ever!
